this week we as a class we went over the syllabus. which dears a striking resemblance to the syllabus of every other english class i have had, no suprise there.
the next day we went over the ten rules of being human, reading these rules helped me to identify a little better others, seeing that we all abide by these ten simple rules no matter who we are or where we come from was very humbling. On
wednesday the class did a free writing experiment. the only instructions were that we could not stop writing no matter what. in doing this experiment it showed me just how much my mind jumps from one topic to another with seemingly no trouble at all. I wonder if that is why i have such a hard time staying on topic when writing a formal paper, or for that matter any paper. More self realizations happening. At this rate i am going to have to write a book to keep track of all of the things i am learning about myself.
On thursday we went over the power of a story. Reading this or for a matter listening to it, showed me how much a simple story could help any person reading it, remember a whole plethora of facts as long as the story being told has flow. I have been using stories to convey facts for quite a while, but i only did it because it made the paper i was writing feel better.
